Well, it has certainly been a long time since I last posted! And boy have things gotten interesting! I have been brought to my knees, and invited to stand back up with my Savior!
I wasn't doing very well in several of my classes at UVA, I had been sick quite a bit, and was just worn out and tired of school. My Dean invited me in for a meeting with him, and he suggested that I withdraw from the University for medical reasons and return when I was feeling better! Additionally, I was facing some pretty intense financial difficulties, and I was devastated! But deep down, I knew what needed to be done! So I submitted the paperwork and withdrew from UVA....it hurt, but I knew it was for the best! And boy did my community and friends rally around me! They helped me realize that this temporary "failure" (in my eyes anyhow) wasn't what defines me. My relationship with Christ is the only thing that can define me! And realizing that and the fact that I had friends who were willing to love me and support me despite this setback was also an amazing feeling!
So I left UVA and headed home, still feeling downtrodden but hopeful! I was praying that my financial issues would resolve themselves! And boy did God work there! He fulfilled every last request I had about that! I was able to find a new job, get a car loan, I found a check for almost $500 in my bedroom! What a blessing! So I went out and bought my first car to help me get to that new job! I also applied for a second job, which I am going to interview for next week! So be praying for that! I am just reveling in God's goodness to me!
Also, I just completed a study of the Book of Hosea through the #SheReadsTruth community! What a blessing! The whole book is about God's relentless pursuit of us, despite our own sinfulness. It is truly a story of Redemption and such a blessing to me!
I am in the midst of a summer reading list currently! I have a lot I would like to finish this summer, and hundreds of ways to grow! I am so excited to see where God is leading me! What about you?! Any books you're looking forward to reading this summer?
XOXO,
Helen
